Biography

If you are looking for a hardworking, ethical, committed, fast learning, versatile, result-oriented with an ability to work under tight schedules while meeting deadlines, do not look any further—you’ve found me.

I have over 10 years of experience working in Human Resource Management field; firstly, by working as a Senior Human Resource Officer at Sokoine University of Agriculture while simultaneously working as a part time Assistant Lecturer (Human Resource Management) and now working as a full time Assistant Lecturer (Human Resource management) at the University.

I’m well-versed in change management, employee engagement and On-boarding, strategic workforce planning, recruitment, retention methods, talent management, Performance Appraisal, Training & Development, compensation, Grievance Handling and Aligning Business Policies with the Statutes and Labor Laws.

Outside the office, I am an avid basketball player as well as a devotee of the suspense novels. If you challenge me to a soccer/football video game match, I will win!. I’m also obsessed with classical, Rhythm & Blues and Jazz music.

Academic Background

I hold a Master of Science in Human Resource Management and a bachelor’s degree in public administration (Human Resource Management) both from Mzumbe University. And currently holding a position as an Assistant Lecturer in Human Resource Management, Industrial Relations, Organizational Behavior and Human Resource Development at the College of Social Science and Humanities, Sokoine University of Agriculture.

I do have both academic and industrial experience. I served as a Senior Human Resources Officer for five years before leaving the corporate and moved on to my academic career with plenteous experience and hands-on involvement in managing the full spectrum of Human Resources, working with the human resources information systems, and spearheading Human Resources business contingency plans.

I am also an active researcher, my interest is in the area of Human resource Management, Labor market dynamics, Labor Market Assessment, Strategic Human Resource Management, Human Capital Management, Industrial Relations, Organizational Behavior and Managing Teams in Organizations.

HEET Project Scholarship

Last year (2022), I had the incredible privilege of being selected as one of the recipients of the full PhD scholarships offered by the SUA HEET project. This scholarship has had a profound impact on my academic journey, enabling me to embark on a PhD program at the esteemed University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN) in South Africa. Without this invaluable support, pursuing advanced studies at such a prestigious institution would have been a daunting financial challenge.

UKZN, renowned as one of South Africa’s premier research-focused universities, has provided me with an intellectually stimulating environment to cultivate my scholarly pursuits. Thanks to the HEET project’s scholarship, I am not only able to pursue my passion for social science research, but I am also fortunate to receive guidance and mentorship from top-tier experts in the field. This experience is molding me into a well-rounded academician and a proficient research expert.

Plans for Future

My unwavering commitment as an academician is to excel not only in imparting knowledge effectively to my students but also in pushing the boundaries of research within my specialized field. My aspiration is to become a dynamic educator who fosters a profound understanding and passion for learning among my students. Concurrently,

I am dedicated to emerging as a distinguished researcher, known for producing groundbreaking and original contributions that advance our understanding of labor market dynamics and human resource management. By seamlessly integrating teaching and research, I aim to inspire the next generation while leaving an indelible mark on the academic landscape.
