Biography
I am GILBERTH PROSPER TEMBA, I am 29 years old saving in the position of Tutorial Assistant in the Department of Forest Engineering and Wood Science, College of Forestry, Wildlife and Tourism at Sokoine University of Agriculture. My interest is on programming and simulation techniques using artificial intelligence (AI) and other techniques in planning and management of Natural Resources and other allied land uses. My hobbies are on travel tours and making adventures on various disciplines. I have talent on drawings and graphics designing.

I got a bachelor of science degree in Forestry from Sokoine University of Agriculture in 2018, Now I am doing Masters degree in Forest Engineering at the same university and I am nearly to accomplish.

 

My mission statement or philosophy:
Guiding sustainable resource management through innovation and collaboration, preserving nature’s balance for present and future generations.

  1. Designing and construction of infrastructures in protected areas (Pas) with adherence of the regulations and guidelines.
  2. Planning and management of the forest operations using various techniques.
  3. Research designing, implementation, analysis, and scientific report writing skills related to the management of Natural Resources and other allied land uses.

HEET Project Scholarship

I have been awarded a two years SUA HEET scholarship funded by the World Bank under Tanzania government to pursue MSc. studies in the thematic area of Forest Engineering at Sokoine University of Agriculture. The awarded scholarship covers Tuition fee, stipend, research, books and stationery allowance for two years, which smoothen my study journey. Moreover, through scholarship I received, I was able to conduct my research nicely, and I am now continue writing my Dissertation.

The scholarship I have received has an impact to my academic career, because i received new knowledge, skills and much exposure through my Masters study particularly during research.

 

Plans for Future
My future career aspiration is to undertake further studies (i.e., PhD) in order to broaden my skills and knowledge in my area of expertise. And by doing so, I will be able to serve the community and the country as well through research, consultancy and outreach programs in order to ensure sustainable forest resources management.
