The Vice-Chancellor of Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA), Prof. Raphael Chibunda, has expressed gratitude to the President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Her Excellency Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, for providing funds to the university through the Higher Education for Economic Transformation (HEET) Project.

Under this project, SUA has implemented its strategic goals by sending staff for further studies, enhancing skills, procuring teaching materials, and improving infrastructure on campus.

During the World Workers’ Day celebrations, Prof. Chibunda addressed the staff and highlighted the direct benefits the university’s workers have been receiving from the HEET Project, amounting to a staggering 73 billion Tanzanian Shillings.

This funding not only supports various initiatives but also aids in upgrading the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) infrastructure, ensuring a seamless workflow and aligning the institution with global technological advancements in online education.
